Hypertextual writing pushes our
envelope about what kind of writing we are asking our
students to do. In the classic five paragraph essay
there is a way of demonstrating the answer.
Hypertext demonstrates that writing can be used to
explore themes and questions. This leads to a
different kind of thinking and writing, one in which
"answering" questions involves a process of
coming up with a set of answers that lead to more
questions.
