[?] In "Theatrum Philosophicum," Foucault's essay on Deleuze in Language, Counter-Memory, Practice, he claims that the practice of seeing each side of a binary as the same, folding them over, opens into difference rather than totalizes under a general rubric. The eternal repetition of this sameness prdocuces different events, opening up a closed binary into a multiplicity. In playing with the "sameness" of the closed binary of modernism/postmodernism, I am hoping for such a result. It is the will to order that fuels the eternal repetition of binary thinking; but if we fold and fold incessantly, if we keep pushing for new samenesses, we keep creating new events and finding new differences.
