Brother Carl,
I like your idea about writing center tutors needing a sense of Kairos. I like the way you work that around to suggesting that there are even moments when it is appropriate for the tutor to write on the students paper (and perhaps by implication to do a little editing?). I find myself wondering now how tutors acquire a sense of kairos. Is it learned? Are we born with it. Is it some combination of intrinsic and learned? Do you do something in your tutor training that fosters a stronger sense of kairos on your tutors? I want my tutors to have kairos.
