At their public elementary school in Greenville, South Carolina, they were taught by their teacher that the recent removal of the Confederate flag at the South Carolina Statehouse was a sad event, that some slave holders were good men because they taught their slaves to read the Bible, and that slaves were treated well in South Carolina.
