Well, I guess that's progress. But lately we've come to realize that such development requires a price. The destruction and neglect of the environment has continued almost undisturbed for centuries. Now, of course, we have bigger and better ways to obliterate the world around us. Overpopulation, industrial waste, and the unchecked consumption of resources will cause a major problem sometime in the future.
