I say this because, when I first began
doing research on teaching
writing with computers, everything I read pointed me back to this
same
community: the writers and the people who figure most prominently
in
this book. I am beginning to realize that there was, perhaps, more
out
there than I am giving credit for, that I was naturally drawn to
this
group because their philosophy was closest to mine, and that I have
subsequently erased from my memory any traces of pointers to
different
groups and philosophies. But I can't be sure without retracing my
steps
from a few years ago, and I haven't even attempted that.
