genre is the international literary journal published by the Department of Comparative Literature and Classics at California State University, Long Beach.
Possible Topics Include:
urban myth, utopian / dystopian visions, the underground city, city
politics, crime in the city, class structure, social beings / social
structures, ethnic conflict & cross-cultural exchange, urban
alienation / identity, the collective community, nature / culture
conflicts, city aesthetics, urban renewal, urban environmental
issues, etc.
We invite you to submit critical essays and creative works (fiction, poetry, & artwork).
Deadline: April 4th, 1997
