"Forgetting and Trauma"

Does traumatic memory compel us to reexamine the traditional understanding of memory as remembrance, recollection of the past?

Papers or abstracts on the relationship between memory and collective identity and/or those dealing with the psychoanalysis of trauma are especially welcome.
