In a course that places such high emphasis on multimodal composition, instructors were encouraged to provide interactive feedback using sound, writing, and video programs; these various mediums also accommodate multiple learning styles as well. For instance, it was often difficult to comment on a student’s public service announcement using text-based feedback, so we used programs like Jing for screen capture or Audacity for audio comments. Regardless of the choice of medium, the instructors offered facilitative feedback so that the student may revise his or her project and either resubmit the project or move it to the portfolio.
